The Re-Inventing Romeo and Juliet project was about finding a real life past world conflict and connecting that to Romeo and Juliet. For example, one conflict could be the Revolutionary War, and Juliet could be American and Romeo could be British. We would have to see how that would play out. My group's conflict was the Battle of Thermopylae, so I had to relate that back to Romeo and Juliet. In Humanities, we learned to research our world conflict and work with a group. In Physics, we learned to calculate our roller coaster´s energy and velocity. In Engineering, I learned a new way of painting using tape and laser cutting.
An outstanding moment in this project was the final exhibition because everyone seemed super happy to be there. I felt successful during that time because I did a good job at explaining our world conflict. I explained how the conflict started, when the conflict happened, and who the conflict was between. Those people being the Spartans and the Persians. I also felt successful during the rest of my classmate´s work was really well made. When I asked questions about their conflict and the work they did during the project, they were able to answer really well.
Our group´s design pitch could have been better because everyone in our group was not on the same page. We could have practiced more, seeing as our group only practiced once that could have cleared things up while we were doing our presentation. During the Exhibition, I should have explained more about our roller coaster building progress. I think the project turnout was great however.
